Cheap quadcopters

Make sure you understand what you are looking for before you purchase cheap quadcopters. Cheap quadcopters tend to be radio-controlled. Some models don't even come with transmitters. Some can be operated using an app. The use of your quad depends on your interests. A simple transmitter is sufficient if you are primarily interested in filming and taking photos. How To

How to Fly Drones at a Beginning Level

A drone can be used to fly remotely controlled aircraft for photography, surveillance, scientific research, hobby and commercial purposes. The technology behind drones has been around since World War II. DJI's Phantom series quadcopters were first commercially available in 2010. There have been many drones made since then. These range from beginner-friendly drones like Parrot AR Drone 2.0 to more advanced multi-rotor craft like DJI Mavic Pro.

There are many methods to fly a Drone, including

  1. Remote control - This method uses a control device attached to your hand, which enables you to steer the drone through its flight path. There are two main types of controllers: On/Off switches (like a radio) and joysticks.
  2. Manual Control - This method uses a smartphone app to remotely control the drone using GPS coordinates. The app will give you instructions.
  3. Autonomous Flying - This allows the drone to take over all of the piloting duties. It is basically flying autonomously and without human intervention. To enable autonomous flight, the drone should have a built in camera and sensors capable recording images and data.
  4. Triggered Flight – This method is very similar to manual flight. The pilot creates a route that the drone will follow until it reaches the destination. After the preprogrammed route is complete, the drone will automatically land and return to its base.
  5. Landing Gear – A few drones come with landing gear. This allows them land safely in the event of losing power or running out of battery.
  6. Goggles – Pilots often wear goggles while flying to keep themselves safe from any debris.
  7. Camera - Some drones can be equipped with cameras which enable you to capture photos from the sky.
  8. Obstacles. Some drones can have obstacle avoidance technology that stops them from hitting obstacles.
  9. Speed - Drones can reach speeds up to 40 mph.
  10. Battery Life - Most drones can last between 20 minutes to 3 hours, depending on how much power you're using.
  11. Some drones have a range of up to 30 miles, depending on their model.
  12. Power source - Some drones require an external power source; others work off internal batteries.
  13. Weight - Some drones are lighter than others, while some models can weigh as much as 4 pounds.
  14. Size - The size of drones varies from small, easily carried devices to more substantial crafts that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
  15. Price – All drones fall into a price category. These range from expensive models that cost thousands to affordable options that start at 100 dollars.
